Exhibition: Places that Aren’t, Božidarac National Gallery, Belgrade, Serbia, 2025

Atlantis was a great and wondrous empire which had rule over all the island, and over many parts of the continent… and was the richest and the fairest of all possessions.” - Plato, Timaeus and Critias

Long has mankind engaged in that hunt for what the sea swallowed, that secret kingdom of advanced technology and hidden knowledge, gone in the blink of an eye. Her pointed castles and winding corridors, once bustling with the best humanity had to offer - now home to scaled citizens. Could it be that at the end of that maddening search for a long buried truth beneath the crashing waves of the Mediterranean - the answer rings as hollow as: “Ancient secrets or not, Atlantis doesn’t absolve you of your responsibilities today!” - Moshe Shamah
